About us
Throughout our 90 year history, department stores, specialty shops, drugstores, grocery stores, discount stores, hardware stores, jewelry shops and many other retailers doing business in Texas have all counted on TRA to be their voice in Austin as well as a valued industry resource. In short, we are the voice of Texas retail.

About us

Today, the Texas Retailers Association represents the companies and retail professionals who make up one of the world’s largest economies and provides them a voice in Austin and Washington, DC, as well valuable membership benefits. Through TRA’s various initiatives we aim to improve the lives of not just retailers, but customers as well. By providing government advocacy, industry information and education resources and events, as well as supporting educational programs  and scholarship funds, we ensure our members concerns are met and protected.

Initiatives

The Texas Retailers Association advocates on behalf of our members and industry, in front of lawmakers and government agencies, to defend their business interests and needs. Additionally, TRA serves as a trusted industry resource for retailers doing business in Texas, through any number of opportunities to engage with TRA and fellow retailers.  Through our Texas Retailers Education Foundation, T.R.E.F., we support educational programs and scholarships at the college and high school levels to promote paths to professional careers in retail. And, we are leading the way with innovative efforts, such as our Organized Retail Crime/Loss Prevention initiatives. TRA is a national leader in addressing theft of retail plastic products, which cost retailers and their customers millions every year.
